MAFLT Portfolio
MAFLT Portfolio
My name is Grace Kim and a graduate student at MAFLT. I never thought I would go into teaching until I moved to Colombia and stepped into a language classroom for the first time as a co-teacher. Currently, I live in Busan, South Korea teaching English as a foreign language at a private institute. I mainly teach TOEFL, TOEFL Junior, and English for the Korean College Scholastic Ability Test. With the knowledge I gained from the MAFLT program, I hope to teach my target areas in more innovative and integrative methods, also using new tools for both classroom and online learning.
This portfolio was made to present the work I created at the Master of Foreign Language (MAFLT) program at Michigan State University. Through the program, I had the opportunity to gain knowledge about a variety of topics regarding foreign language teaching such as pedagogical methods, assessment design, program development, innovative teaching tools, and more--all of which provide both theoretical and practical knowledge for me to implement into my classrooms. I believe that this portfolio will provide an overall presentation of my experience at MSU.
Currently, I work at a test prep institution headquartered in South Korea. For more information and background knowledge of my current workplace, you can click on this link!
