During the MAFLT Program, I completed many different tasks that were designed to connect the theories I have encountered into my own teaching context. The links below go to projects that demonstrate my emerging expertise in key areas of language teaching. To see my cumulative project, which is an interactive lesson bank for designing lessons for developing interculturality, see the Experiential Module page.
I've included 3 resources I created during the MAFLT program related to interculturality:
Novice level intercultural lessons on the following topics:
Using E-Pals
Favorite Music
Ethnographic investigation analyzing the experiences of an informant who lived abroad
Templates for creating intercultural lessons for students at the novice level
Four colleagues and I collaborated to create this introductory course for Spanish learners on Canvas. The course is designed to provide students with comprehensible input and scaffold their understanding and use of the "Super Siete," or the core 7 Spanish verbs.
I have also included a link to my culminating project: interactive templates for developing intercultural lessons on Canvas.
I created a student-focused language portfolio to provide students with a tangible way to see their language growth over the course of the year and collect evidence at each proficiency benchmark. Students using the portfolio will learn to measure their proficiency using ACTFL descriptors
