Intercultural Evidence

FLT 815 was one of the most interesting classes I took during the MAFLT program. I learned that culture is so much more than food, celebrations, and music. I included a few assignments that I feel represent how I view culture and how it can be applied in the language classroom.

Cultural Activity Design

The first cultural activity I created have students investigate different layouts of living accommodations. They relate and compare to their own living accommodations. Check out the slideshow below to get an idea about what living accommodations they are comparing.

Cultural Autobiography

I started FLT 815 with a cultural autobiography essay to think about my own cultural experiences, identity, and awareness. It was a great way to start the semester and consider what "culture" really is.

Cultural Investigation Project

The final project for FLT 815 was an intercultural investigation analysis about someone we felt was an intercultural person. Throughout the semester, I analyzed interviews and discussed how my informant's experiences have influenced changes in identity and interactions when crossing intercultural boundaries.
