Teaching Demo Materials

In My Classroom

Normally, I would have posted a video of myself teaching in front of my classroom. I do not have one at this time, but plan on adding it when I can. Instead, I shared several materials that "open a window" in my classroom.

Syllabus and Student Pictures

I have included my Spanish 1 syllabus for visitors to get an idea about what my classroom is like. I mostly use the SOMOS curriculum with some Sr. Wooly and parts of the Ven Conmigo textbook. The pictures below are some students from last year building towers with plastic cups. We had just did a cultural lesson on the human towers in Tarragona, Spain.

Tech Tools

I like to use various technological tools in my classroom with my students. I included some screenshots of students interacting in a Nearpod lesson. I create comprehension questions for students to answer during the lesson. Afterward, I receive a summary on student participation.

Student Work Examples

The first two slideshows are from two different students in my Spanish 2 class. The one on the left is having students describe what each celebrity is wearing in Spanish and then creating their own clothing descriptions. The one on the right is a story remix from a class story. The student had to take our original class story and change a few details to make it their own using our targeted vocabulary. The one on the bottom is a weather project that I have used for Exploratory Spanish and Spanish 1. Students choose a city and create the weather forecast for the week using pictures and complete sentences in Spanish.
