My experimental study looked at how often corrective feedback is used in interactions of L2 learning and the kind of corrective feedback pairs use depending on if those pairs are pre-selected or self-selected. I focused on how often recasts were used during an information gap activity and the accuracy percentages of the activity. The results show that the pre-selected group had higher accuracy than the self-selected group. However, the self-selected group used more recasts than the pre-selected group. This study can help SLA in regards to corrective feedback and grouping students effectively.
My partner and I completed an evaluation of the World Language program of a public school in New York. We used ethnographic methods to examine and made suggestions to the program. We checked to see if the program reflected the new state standards across the different levels. Our recommendations included a backwards design approach to curriculum, an implementation of IPAs, and observations of other HLL programs.
