Materials for Language Teachers and Learners

Below are some materials related to my Experiential Module.

Task designs

Each task design follows the same format:

  • Pre-viewing activity that taps into students' prior knowledge of topic and that has them collaborate with peers to share and add to this knowledge before listening/viewing

  • Questions that ask students about their anxiety level, knowledge of topic, and any difficulties they may foresee prior to listening/viewing

  • The three parts of the task--students watch the video three times and complete each viewing activity separately, each time verifying with a partner

  • Post-viewing questions that have students answer questions such as relating what was difficult about the video and which strategies they used and why

  • The final question asks them to set a goal by choosing a strategy (or two or three) to use for the next video and why they are choosing that strategy or strategies
