Master's Project for the MA in Foreign Language Teaching
Over the course of two semesters and some of the summer I completed my experiential module by first studying my own teaching and reflecting on what was working as well as what was not working, then creating a curriculum based on those findings. In this curriculum I wanted to enhance what I was doing in the comprehensible input method to get my students to communicate in the target language because I believed that their oral proficiency was lacking.
In completing my practicum and reflecting on my study extensively, I found that comprehensible input method and the strategies used in that method do not naturally promote oral proficiency. Thus, I worked to create a curriculum that paired comprehensible input strategies, which were highly engaging for my students, with something that pushed them to use the language to communicate.
I provide further explanations in the respective sections below as well as a presentation that I gave at the FLEx Conference hosted by the MAFLT conference in the Spring of 2021.
In this phase I investigated my own practices and reflected on changes as I put them into action.

In this phase I created a curriculum for novice Spanish learners based on what I learned in the practicum phase of my experiential module.
