Here are a few of my most commonly used technology tools:
Extempore is a great tool to use for speaking practice! The free version allows students to respond to text, image, audio, or video prompts with either audio-only responses or video. Teachers can upload rubrics and give feedback directly in Extempore, which can be set up to automatically send grades to Google Classroom as well. The paid version also allows for group interpersonal practice with both synchronous and asynchronous options.
Genial.ly has so many uses, I'm still discovering new ones every time I log in! This website allows students to create a huge variety of both static and interactive digital content, yet is very straight-forward and user-friendly which makes it quick and easy to learn how to use. Premium accounts allow for a few additional uses, such as downloading final products for offline viewing, but the free account is easily robust enough for a vast majority of goals.
Canva is an incredibly simple but powerful graphic design website. Just type in nearly any topic, theme, or idea and canva will offer impactful, fully customizable templates for infographics, posters, flyers, and other static visual media. And unlike genial.ly, downloading your final product to PDF is completely free! While there is a paywall to access many of the given templates, there is still a large selection available for free.
