I’m Brittany Brenner, a French and Spanish teacher at Odessa High School in Odessa, Missouri, USA. I earned my BA in Secondary Education (emphasis French) at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2010, added my Spanish certification in 2020, and am on track to graduate from the Master of Arts in Foreign Language Teaching program at Michigan State University in 2022. I have also been honored with a few awards, including the national Certificate of Excellence in Education. I live in Kansas City with my husband, who is an American Government teacher, and our son who will be entering kindergarten soon.
This website contains a careful selection of my work throughout the MAFLT program. Assignments and evidence included were chosen to show my pedagogical and/or linguistic skills, teaching philosophy, or growth over the course of the program. While more could always be added, this website includes top highlights such as a teaching demonstration, evidence of my skills as a researcher, and examples of my ability to integrate intercultural competence into the curriculum, which was also a key component in my Experiential Module.
If you're wondering what I've been up to outside of my work in the MAFLT program, you can also get a glimpse of the newest information about my work and programs at Odessa High School by scrolling through our official Instagram feed on the right!
