During the MAFLT Program, I completed many different tasks that were designed to connect the theories I have encountered with my pedagogical practices with the realities of a classroom. The links below go to projects that demonstrate my emerging expertise in key areas of language teaching.
This section includes an essay I researched and wrote in order to explore the question of how people learn intercultural skills. It also shows how I help support the development of students' intercultural competence with an example lesson plan for a clothing or shopping unit.
This section includes two examples of lesson plans which smoothly incorporation a number of different technologies, including several collaborative tools. I also have a short list of tech-based tools I use frequently and find the most useful.
This section includes a new portfolio assessment I created for a challenging middle school foreign language program. The materials on this page explain how it works, what would be included, how it would be graded, and my rationale behind the decisions.
