Sociology familiarizes students with the concepts, theories, and perspectives presented in an introductory-level college sociology class and exposes students to the way the discipline explains human behavior at all levels. The course provides students with a toolkit they can utilize to understand themselves and their relation to the world and allows them to explore the connection between self and society; biography and history. The course covers such topics as culture, socialization, the family, social conformity and deviance, social inequality, social institutions, and social change.
