The course is an analysis of the interaction between humans and their environments. It will focus on political and physical geography and we will examine migration patterns as well as the importance of natural resources. The course will acquaint students with the practical use of maps and Geographic Information Systems. It will also consider how cultures work and make sense, how cultures adapt and change through time, and how culture is expressed. Emphasis will be placed on Eurasia, Africa, Asia, S. America and Australia/Oceania.
