Prerequisite: AP English Language or English 3 Honors with grades of ‘B’ for both semesters or teacher recommendation
This course offers students the opportunity to experience a two-semester college level literature and composition course. The texts for the course will include novels, poetry, non fiction, criticism, and drama that range from the 16th century to the present day. The emphasis in writing will be on literary analysis. Grammar and vocabulary will be studied in the context of the reading and writing of the course. Students who enroll in this course should expect assignments such as reading up to 20 pages per night, timed writings in class, formal papers, research, journal writing, class discussions, online discussions, and class presentations. Students will be required to complete a summer reading and writing project.
