This course focuses on the landscape, nursery and turf segments of the horticulture industry. Units of study include: basics of plant growth, identifying horticultural plants, designing landscape plans, hardscape construction techniques, and installing landscape plants. Agribusiness units will cover calculating prices for work, managing a horticulture business, advertising and sales. (A207)

This advanced course is designed to develop knowledge and skills in the following areas: using soil and other plant growing media, identifying horticultural plants, propagating horticultural plants; basics of growing plants in the greenhouse; principles of floral design (centerpieces, corsages and holiday designs); operating, repairing and maintaining equipment used in the horticultural field. (A207) Students successfully completing both Horticulture 1 and Horticulture 2 may receive dual through Parkland College. Students are responsible for dual credit costs and textbooks when required.
