Mrs. Pawlak Interview

Have you ever been having a great day and you are in PE and the teacher decides that the whole class will run the track 10 times then out of nowhere you feel sick and get to see the nurse? Well our school nurse is Mrs Pawlak, and I was lucky enough to interview her about what it is like to be a school nurse and this is what she said!



What is your Favorite part of your job? Getting to meet new kids and helping kids that are sick

What is your favorite subject in school? Science 

What is your favorite movie or tv show?  Found (About a girl that people can go to for help.)

What is your favorite book? The Narida Series

What sports or hobbies did you do in middle or high school? Yearbook club (like Interviews, Pictures, Documentaries for the yearbook.)

Mr. Ellis Interview

Have you ever seen someone walking around the school with a broom? Well they are Custodians and I was lucky enough to interview one of the Custodians here at the Mahomet Seymour Jr High. I was able to interview Mr. Ellis So you guys can meet him. So without further ado, let's meet Mr Ellis.


Joshua: What is your Favorite part of your job? 

   Mr. Ellis: Interacting with the amazing Staff and Students at MSJH.


   Joshua: What is your favorite subject in school? 

Mr ellis: In High School I enjoyed the building trades class. We built 2 homes in the Mahomet area.


Joshua: What is your favorite food? 


Mr Ellis: A Ribeye Steak cooked over a campfire.


Joshua: What is your favorite movie or tv show? 


Mr ellis: I enjoy watching College football/basketball.

  

   Joshua: What is your favorite book?

Mr. Ellis: I played Football and Baseball.

Mr. Ellis: I enjoy Camping and Fishing as well as attending my Granddaughters events (Rylee and Elli are both students at MSJH).

So let's start off by asking Miss J questions.


Q:How old are you?

A: I am 21, almost 22.


Q:How long have you been wanting to teach?


A: I have always wanted to be a teacher, ever since I was in elementary school.


Q:Once you graduate college what subject do you want to teach?


A: I want to teach English. So either reading or writing.


Q:What are some of your hobbies?


A: So I like to read, cook, and I like to try new coffee shops.


Q:What grade do you want to teach?


A: I want to teach 6th or 7th.


Q:What is your favorite food?

A: My favorite food is potatoes.



Q:What is your favorite movie and tv show?



A:My favorite movie is Hercules, which is a Disney movie, and my favorite tv show is Gilmore Girls.



Q:What is your favorite book?


A: My favorite book is The Selection Series.



Q:What is your favorite color?


A: My favorite color is light purple.



Q:What sports or hobbies did you do in middle and high school?


A: I mostly did dance at a studio, so all kinds of dance, I was on my high school dance team. I also took art classes. I was in the service club in high school and that was where we did things for the community.

A: My favorite game is Azul, it’s a board game where you have to match tiles to a photo or image.

A: 21

A: Since my junior year of high school because of my math teacher!

A: Math

A: I like to run and read

A: I love sushi, especially from Kofusion in Champaign!

Ms. Smith Interview

Have you ever seen a teacher and was like “Who is that person?” Well, I have interviewed 1 of the new teachers here at MSJH! I hope you get to know her and like her. She is a very kind, very caring scientist. She has a 7th grader named Walker and a Freshman named Alana. She also has a pet jellyfish and a pet hamster named Loki! Additionally, she has many degrees in science and teaching!

Anyway, without further ado, Ms. Smith!


Gabby: What is your favorite scientist?

Smith: Marie Curie because she was able to win nobel prizes in different categories and she did lots of experiments on radiation.


Gabby: How long have you been teaching?

Smith: This is my 18th year teaching.


Gabby:What is your favorite subject in science to teach?

Smith: Biology. It helps students find out what's really around them.


Gabby: What is your favorite thing to look at under the microscope?

Smith: Cells. There are all different types of cells and they are really cool to look at.


Gabby: Do you have any work published?

Smith: Lesson plans and articles with The Association of Chemistry Teachers and the National Science Association


Gabby: Which schools have you taught at?

Smith: Paris Crestwood, Monticello Middle School, Illinois Virtual School, Illinois State University and here, MSJH.


Gabby: What is your favorite grade to teach?

Smith: 6th grade. But I feel like all grades have their own pros and cons.


Gabby: What is your favorite experiment that you have done?

Smith: One year we did experiments with loaves of bread and yeast and they created lots and lots of bread! So there was a lot of bread for lunch!

Q & A With Miss Record

Have you ever come back from a summer break and there is a new teacher that you know nothing about?  I’m going to interview one of the new 6th grade teachers, Miss Record.  I hope this helps you learn more about one of the new teachers!



Q:  How many years have you been teaching?


A:  This is my first year teaching!



Q:  What is your favorite color?


A:  My favorite color is teal.



Q:  When did you decide that you wanted to be a teacher?


A:  I officially decided I wanted to be a teacher in junior high.



Q:  What made you decide that you wanted to be a teacher?


A:  My 8th grade teacher really made me want to be a teacher because of the impact she had on my life.  I had a mentor teacher my junior year of college who really solidified my desire to be a teacher because I was able to watch her love her students and her classroom like they were her own.  It was incredible.



Q:  What did you want to be when you were a kid?


A:  I wanted to be a Marine Biologist and a School Counselor as a kid!



Q:  What is your favorite part of your job?


A:  My favorite part of my job is the people - it’s so much fun getting to create new relationships with students and staff.  It’s even better that I get to do it at a school where I can wear orange and blue!



Q:  What is your favorite snack?


A:  My favorite snack is chips and salsa.



Q:  What is one hobby that you enjoy?


A:  One hobby I enjoy is watching and attending sports events.
