Reminders:
Lost and found has been bagged up after being on display since October conferences.
Students had the opportunity to walk through multiple times prior to Thanksgiving break.
If you are missing something specific and wanting to go through the bags before items are donated, feel free to come up and take a look by December 8th.
Winter MAP Testing Begins
Here is our upcoming testing schedule at a glance. iPads will need to stay at school in order to charge. Please support your student by encouraging a great night of sleep and a nutritious breakfast (or snack!) so that they can perform their best. Kids have worked so incredibly hard and we are excited to see how much they have grown since August! For clarity - each day of testing might look like 30 minutes or 15 questions completed - this is an approximation. Short bursts = students performing outstanding!

❄️ Wintery Conditions Are Almost Here - Wheeler Recess Guidelines ❄️
PLEASE LABEL COATS AND ACCESSORIES TO ASSIST IN LIMITING OUR LOST AND FOUND COLLECTION!
Grade-level teachers and the office staff will determine whether students will go out for recess based on precipitation, wind chill, and temperature. For teacher recess, we will plan for outside recess if the temperature or wind chill (“feels like”) is above 0 using at the time of the recess. For lunch recess, we will plan for outside recess if the "feels like" temp is 10 degrees and up. This might mean that a grade level that has a recess at 10 AM may stay inside due to wind chill, and then it might warm up in the afternoon to allow for other grade levels to go outside. We will always prefer to be outside for fresh air!
☃️ ❄️☃️ ❄️ ☃️❄️ ☃️
Please dress students appropriately for the weather each day so they can fully participate. Classroom teachers will communicate with families what students in your child's grade level will be permitted to bring for outside winter play. There are many factors that go into this decision, such as length of recess, students' level of independence getting dressed/undressed, schedule for what is happening before/after recess, etc. Please make sure to take note of your child's grade level decision through their weekly communication/newsletter. Thank you for your partnership and cooperation in advance.
