Prior to leaving for school, teachers and staff should screen themselves for a temperature greater than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit and observe for symptoms consistent with COVID-19. Key COVID-19 signs and symptoms are: feeling feverish, measured temp 100.4 F or more, chills, uncontrolled new cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, loss of taste or smell.
Teachers, staff and regular approved volunteers are to stay at home if they are feeling sick, have any symptoms associated with COVID-19, or have had close contact with a person diagnosed with COVID-19.
Please notify the school immediately of your absence.
When arriving at the building, all staff and teachers are required to enter through the same entrance(s) where the thermal temperature scanners are located.
All staff and teachers are required to pass by the thermal temperature scanner in the entrance.
If a teacher or staff member registers a temperature greater than 100.4 degrees, then they will be sent home.
Teachers and staff will continue to assist with cleaning in order to properly clean all surfaces/items and maintain a clean environment.
Teachers and staff will be provided with the necessary cleaning supplies and should not bring their own supplies from home.
MPS has plenty of hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, disinfectant spray, paper towels, extra masks and gloves. These items will be available in all classrooms and critical areas of the schools.
Sharing of materials will be limited and will only occur when deemed necessary. When materials are required to be shared they will be cleaned thoroughly.
Custodians will be working during school hours to help ensure a clean environment, so they will enter to clean during instructional time.
