6th Grade Information

Sixth Grade will focus on building a community of learners. We will focus on cooperative learning as a way to learn about ourselves and others, and support each other as readers and writers. Throughout the year, we will read a number of short stories and explore the themes of community and identity, communication, figurative language, and human rights.

We will produce several pieces of creative writing and work on further strengthening our comfort level with writing conventions such as commas and quotation marks. We will also take an intensive look at how the form and details of the plot can shape a story.

We will read some fun and thought provoking literature, challenge ourselves to be better writers and have an AWESOME year!

Students will be able to find resources, assignments and other information in their class's GoogleClassroom.
