About the College and Career Center (CCC)
Here in the CCC at Southwest High School, we assist students by meeting them where they are at in building their own individual post-secondary plans; whether that may be going straight to work, considering a gap year, applying to college, and more.
We help prepare students for life after high school by providing resources, technology, and an open, community space to research and ask questions about the post-secondary options they consider. The Career & College Center Coordinators are available to connect and assist students with the following:
Post-secondary research, planning, and application assistance for 2 and 4 year college options, technical and short-term training programs, employment, apprenticeships, and more!
My Life Plan is on Xello (Access for students on it's way)
College and worksite tours
College, career, and military representative visits at school
ACT test registration and preparation
FAFSA, Dream Act, financial aid, and scholarship research
Resume writing, job interview, financial literacy, and other professional skills workshops
Job and internship opportunities
Xello is the new online platform where students access their My Life Plan (MLP): a portfolio where students can explore options and begin to plan their post-secondary education plan.
The CCRC is open Monday-Thursday 8:30 am-4:00 pm (unless otherwise indicated). We are located on the 1st floor of the West Building, connected to the Counseling Office.
