CSS Profile

Some colleges/universities require applicants to fill out additional financial aid forms in order to get a better understanding of a student's financial situation and/or needs. Make sure to research what other financial aid applications your college/university will want you to fill out! Some colleges need to have your financial aid applications in at the same time as your college application deadlines (more so for early decision deadlines). Be sure to check your college to know if the FAFSA/CSS Profile will be due at your Early Decision application deadlines.

CSS Profile

This is administered by the College Board and is an online application to determine eligibility for non-federal financial aid. Unlike the FAFSA which is free, the CSS Profile does have an application fee. The fee for the initial application is $25. Additional reports are $16. Students may be eligible for fee waivers.

Institutional Applications for Financial Aid

Colleges and universities may require students to complete supplemental financial aid forms provided by the individual school to determine eligibility for institutional aid. To determine if a college or university requires its own aid application to be completed, students should review the aid application procedures and deadlines posted on each college's financial aid website.
