In Pre VCE Art Creative Practice, research and investigation inform art making. Through the study of artworks, the practices of artists and their role in society, students develop their individual art practice, and communicate ideas and meaning using a range of materials, techniques and processes. Students are introduced to historical, contemporary and first nations artists and artworks, practice art, and create their own art. This helps them understand how research, making art, and analyzing art are connected.Through this study, students see how art can communicate cultural, social, and personal messages. It also inspires them to develop their own artistic skills.
In this subject students prepare for VCE Drama. Students will explore:

theatre styles that go beyond reality
how to apply symbolism to enhance meaning
developing drama literacy when responding to devised and professional performances.
This subject enables students to further their media skills and knowledge in preparation for VCE Media. Students:
analyse issues in the media
research, develop and create media products in different media forms (video, photography, print or animation)
participate in masterclasses in production and editing
analyse how codes and conventions communicate information to an audience
develop an understanding of how the media products are made.
In Pre VCE Visual Communication Design, students will expand upon the skills and knowledge they have acquired in Graphic Design, as they progress towards VCE Visual Communication Design. This course aims to explore the realm of visual language and its profound impact on conveying messages, ideas, and information within the domains of design, namely communication, industrial, and environmental design. By delving into these three fields, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of how visual elements shape and communicate concepts effectively.

Just like the band AC/DC, TNT is all about developing 'electric' skills as a musician to captivate audiences with high-energy performances on your instrument of choice. Students will build their knowledge of music by performing in class bands and learning essential techniques as a soloist.
TNT is recommended for Year 9 and Year 10 students interested in building the 'dynamite' skills necessary for VCE music performance pathways or interested to write and perform their original music.
Students will prepare a setlist of songs to play in different performance situations such as excursions to local primary schools and attend live music events to experience performance skills first hand.

In 3D Art students create a range of 3 dimensional artworks across a variety of materials focusing on skills of construction, modelling, casting and carving. Students look to notable artists and sculptors to discuss aspects of form, technique and their aesthetic effects. From here they design and plan their own artworks informed by a deeper understanding of materials and develop works responding to the perimeters of a Design Brief.

In this subject students explore a range of art making techniques from basic to advanced in a studio setting. Studio Art practices including oil painting, portrait painting, drawing and sculpture among other creative areas will be covered. Students will work through a design process to create an individual folio of artworks to establish, expand and consolidate art making skills.

You achieve these new skills by collaborating, critical listening and investigation tasks that help you prepare a quality recorded product for a wider audience.

This subject explores many facets of making art using computers and technology. Focus is in the areas of fine art, design, illustration and multimedia. Students work through the design process to create artworks using Adobe, AI and online digital tools. Artmaking and artworks are geared toward the online gallery and exhibition.

Students will produce entertaining movie trailers, mockumentaries and short stories allowing them to explore their creativity and express their ideas. With a focus on hands-on learning, students will develop their technical and creative abilities, learning how to use technology and equipment to create captivating and dynamic video content.

MAC-Pop is an engaging and dynamic music elective designed primarily for students in Year 7 and 8. This elective focuses on the performance of songs that are currently popular among students. By exploring the latest hits, students develop their musical skills while connecting with the contemporary music scene. Through collaborative activities and practical experiences, MAC-Pop encourages students to showcase their talents, build confidence, and foster a deeper appreciation for popular music in both school and at external events.

In Photography, students learn the art of capturing imagery using digital SLR cameras. They explore composition principles and use media codes to tell stories through images. The course covers lighting, Photoshop, symbolism, and image analysis, helping students enhance and interpret their images. Through hands-on experiences, students develop creative and technical skills, discovering various photography styles and techniques to develop their unique vision.
In this subject students will develop creative abilities and skills in designing, manipulating, experimenting and selecting appropriate fabrics for an end use. Students shall select and creatively manipulate a range of textile materials to produce quality textile items and delve into understanding about fabric colouration, decoration techniques whilsting exploring skills in fashion illustration, Surface design and concept development using and modifying patterns and basic garment construction skills. Students utilise the design process to develop preliminary work plans working towards the creation of their individual projects and apply a wide range of construction and fabric manipulation techniques to produce aesthetic and functional items.
