How Mistakes Grow Your Brain:
1.) What is the “myth” of the math brain or math person based on the video and article?
-The myth is that there are "math people" and "non math people" and people are just born that way, but thats not true. Studies show that on SATS its not two lines showing "math people" and "not math people" but a data plot showing mixed amount of scores over many people.
2.) Why are mistakes important in math class? Use examples from the One Cut activity to support your claim.
-Mistakes are important because they help us learn and grow. For example in our One Cut activity at first you couldnt figure out how to just do one cut but after lots of trial or error you can get it.
3.) How do you feel about math right now, based on your previous experiences?
-I feel really good about math so far. Ive actully been having a lot of fun so far in math! I feel like my past teachers have really helped perpared me for 8th grade math and im ready to take it on.
4.) What are some specific, actionable steps you can take to improve your math mindset this year?
Some specific actionable steps I need to do this year follows as this: First, a quiet classroom, with no talking and if possible lights off. Finally, a table with none of my friends so i dont get off track and talk.

My overall grade level and score was a 513. This got me a 7th grade level overall even though I got early 8th on two and 7th grade on two.
2.)
Look at the “National Norm” in the bottom left. What percentile did you score?
For my national norm I scored in the 71st percentile.
3.)
For my domains I scored as follows:
Numbers and Operations: Grade 7
Algebra and Algebraic Thinking: Early 8th
Measurement and Data: Early 8th
Geometry: Grade 7
4.)
Set a goal for math this year.
By the end of the year i-Ready test, I want to score in the 8th grade or Early 9th grade level. I will do this by getting good grades on tests and trying my best on my I ready.

This Geometry Quiz was a review of what we learned last year. It covered rigid transformations and congruence. And on this quiz I got a 4/5 which qualafied for a meets (which was the highest grade) and I got this as I answered a question on congruance wrong. Finally my goal for the next quiz is to get all the questions right.

This Geometry Quiz followed the topics of rigid tranformations, simalarity, and scale factor. On this Quiz I got 5/5 which got me a meets (which was the highest grade) Im happy that I completed my goal from last time and hope to do it again.
Units 1 & 2 Final Test

For this test I got 14.5/17 which is a meets, I got this as i got a two part question wrong as well as 0.5 deducted for circling a wrong answer on a multiple choice. This test was basically a review of what we learned in 7th grade so im glad i got a meets to show im ready for 8th grade math. For my next test I hope to get a meets or even an exceeds on on the next test.
I also did the Math 1 extension and got a 7.5/13 which was Approaching. Though I got a approaching im still proud as it was a high school extension. So next time i hope (if i do the extension) to get a meets.

This poster covered simalarity, rigid transformations, slope, parallel lines and missing side lengths of similar triangles. For this poster I got a meets+, I got this because i got meets in mathematical content, meets in real world connections, then and exceeds in refinement. Next time I hope to get an exceeds!
