At the beginning of the year, I believed taking ownership meant: just knowing when you made a mistake and owning up to it

By the end of the year, I understood ownership to mean not only taking accountability but taking action.

 At the beginning of the year, I believed that being helpful meant: helping others 

By the end of the year, I understood helpfulness to mean the exact same thing, helping others in any way you can.

 At the beginning of the year, I believed that being respectful meant: listening with eyes and ears, making sure everyone is heard.

By the end of the year, I understood being respectful to mean almost the exact same thing, being polite, and always treating people how you would want to be treated.
