Internships

The first two days of the week, I spent at Animas High School, working with Durango DEVO. If you didn’t already know, DEVO is a company that does biking programs, about 8 week long, where we meet up with coaches, and just ride trails. They also have teams, and super fun trips, for younger people (14 and under) there are many camping trips, but when you get into highschool, there are trips to places like Whistler, and many other amazing places.

I chose this place, becuase my first option was only able to do three days, so I needed another two. I've been riding with Durango Devo since I moved to Durango, and was a bit curious how the program was run.

The last three days of the week, I was downtown with Mountain Bike Specialists. MBS is a bike shop, with the front being a place to buy parts, accessories, gear, and bikes, and the part I was working in, the back, which is the mechanic shop. They fix bikes, parts, and anything in between. There have been countless times that we needed a repair, and they did it for us. They are a great company, and if you like MTB, I would recommend them to you.

I chose this place, because I love the shop and the people, and on countless times, have they fixed my bike, or put together a new BMX bike nobody understood how to work. So, I chose this place because I wanted to learn about it, and hopefully get a summer job.

I learned a lot about company organizations and how to run the shops. I learned a lot about fixing bikes I hadn't before, and now can contribute that into my everday life, and will potentionaly get a summer job.
