In math we are learning about surface area and ratios, my goal for math is to Improve my IXL score in Algebra and Algebraic thinking. I will do this by doing IXL lessons at home.

Some things we have learned in this unit are how to decompose shapes and find a shapes area including 2-D and 3-D shapes.

In this unit we are learning how a ratio is a relationship between types of quantities and we will be learning the difference between rates, ratios and proportions.

On the unit 1 assessment I feel like I did okay, but I know I can do better. To Improve my grade on the unit 2 assessment I'm not going to rush and after I finish I'm going to look over the whole test to make sure it looks good. When working on the assessment I feel like I need to use refinement a lot so I will get a good grade in the end.

I think I did pretty good on the exit ticket because I got most of the questions right. I think if I want to do better next time I should look at all the questions twice before I get it graded. I think a useful habit of heart in mind in this would be effort because it's the last questions before lunch and you want to leave, but you just need to look at the questions and get it done.

On the unit 2 test I feel like I did alright but I know I can reach higher. The reason I didn't get higher is because for some of the questions I did too much work for a simple question and ended up getting it wrong. So next time I will really read the question so I can make it as simple as possible. i feel like the main habit of heart and mind I used was effort.
Percent QuizI think I did pretty well on the percent quiz because I only got one question wrong. The reason I got it wrong is because I made a silly mistake, So next time I take a quiz I will slow down and refine the quiz after I finish.
Unit 4 reflection (equations and expressions)
During this unit I learned the difference between equations and expressions. An equation is when two expressions are set equal whereas an expression is just a math statement. The beginner way of telling the difference is the equation has an equals sign and the expression doesn't. This part was really easy for me and I learned a lot. One example of an equation is this, 2+x=8. Its pretty simple. An example of an expression is 2x-8+a
Unit 5 reflection (equations and expressions)
In this unit we learned all about proportional relationships. This unit was generally pretty easy but then our teacher got back from being gone for 4 months and the teaching style changed which made it kinda harder since he taught differently. We figured out that the equation for a proportional relationship is y=Kx.. On the final assessment I did really bad and got an app. and I think this is because some of the questions on the test were really hard and the unit was not taught very well.
