Two roads Final project

For this project, I created a Timeline of all of the major Native American Boarding Schools. The learning target for this project was: I can use research skills to develop a presentation from primary sources. I met the leaning target because I got a meets. The project was about creating a timeline about the past Native American boarding schools. I accomplished this by researching about schools from the past and then putting them in a timeline in chronological order. Some things I could use in the future would be time management because did a little then I stopped. This caused me to rush the end of it and that is why I didn't causing me to not get an exceeds.

This project was about writing a different chapter for the end of our book. My partner and I wrote a 2 page chapter to change the end of the book. During this project I definitely took some ownership because I was sick for one of the days while we created it. While I was at home I helped my partner and typed 2 paragraphs.

Debate Research

My debate topic was Should books be banned from schools?" I prepared for this debate by using two different credible websites to research all about my topic. I didn't win the debate. I feel like the reason we lost was we weren't as confident as we should've been. Also I feel like some of our information was irrelevant to the topic. I think I was very helpful during this because I helped both of my group mates and we all worked together well.

Argumentative essay

The thing that I struggled with the most while writing this essay was probably having to write 2 pieces of evidence instead of just one. The reason why this was hard is because I only had researched one piece of evidence before we started the essay. So that meant I had to research while creating the essay instead of just doing all of my research before.I think the part of the essay I'm strongest in would be the introduction because it was easier because I was able to use a past story as my hook. This helped a lot because all I had to do was think about a past experience to help prove my argument. If I were going to help a future 6th grader write an essay I would tell them to make sure to include really strong evidence. I would also tell them that they have to have strong reasons for their evidence as well.

Debates

Another time I used respect was when we had our unit debates. We were divided into groups of three and we had to argue for a cause we were assigned. Each person in the group researched 3 different pieces of evidence adding up to nine in total. We were only able to present three so we each read through each other's pieces of evidence and we slowly started to argue on which ones we would use. We eventually decided that it was best if we should respect each other's opinions and we each used one of ours.

Humanities Projects

My goal for humanities is to be helpful and offer to help others with their work if needed.
