I think taking ownership means being able to work on things without being to or saying you're in a group and your group mates aren't there. You could just spend the whole time sitting there and not get any work done or you can take ownership and work hard on your project for your teammates. At the beginning of the year, my goal for ownership was to have better school attendance and to be somebody others can count on. I think I mostly achieved my goal because whenever I am not at school I try to Email my teachers or partners to see if there is anything I can do. The one thing I think I could use some improvement on is showing up to school on time because I generally arrive around 2-5 minutes late and miss an important announcement or something my advisor or class is working on.
At the beginning of the year, my goal for helpfulness was to be confident to share my ideas and contribute to projects. I achieved this goal by, whenever we worked on exhibitions, projects or just simple math assignments I would always try to help contribute to the conversation and share my ideas. In my opinion at the beginning of the year this was sometimes easier to do when working with friends then working with people you don’t really personally know.
At the beginning of the year, my goal for respect was to disagree more diplomatically. I achieved this goal by whenever a group mate or just a friend said something I didn’t agree with I would try to say I disagree in a way that wouldn’t make them angry. Another thing that also helped me achieve this was trying to think before I speak. I’m not going to say I fully achieved this goal because there were definitely a few times when I could have responded better to a peer.
