My goal for Humanities is to be more positive, solution focused, invigorating to work with by bringing energy to the team.I will achieve my goal by trying to get annoyed less often and working better with all different people in my class.
In ELA we are reading a book called Charlie Hernandez and the League of Shadows. My goal for ELA is to get better at vocabulary, i hope to achieve my goal by studying hard and paying extra attention to the vocabulary lessons and to IXL. Goal reflection:I have gone up a lot in vocabulary. I am now at a 1240 SmartScore 12th grade vocabulary in IXL, and feel comfortable with it.

In this journal prompt, we wrote using "show don't tell". It had to be at least 175 words long. It helped me better understand how to use "show don't tell" in story writing. I used integrity in this project because I didn't look over people's shoulder to see what they were writing.

This project helped us explore and think deeply about our reading so far. We were finding some of the fiction signposts and it really tested how much we knew about the signposts and Two Roads. I was helpful in this project because I offered good suggestions to help the group.
In this project we were able to actually pretend that Cal was real and that we were his friends. we got a chance to really think about his feelings.

For this project, I created a podcast. the goal for this project was, "I can recognize how characters change/grow in a book, identify themes in a book, and discuss how an important chapter from a book connects to a theme from the book". Another goal for this project was, "I can use research skills to develop a presentation from primary sources". I met my goal by working hard. This can help me in the future because I will be able to closely analyze text.

In this assignment we got to choose what project we wanted to do. My group decided to create a skit to replace the last chapter of the book. it was funny and creative. I used helpfulness in this project because some people were not happy with their parts in the play, so I switched out with them. The habit of heart and mind I used was refinement because we had to keep filming our video until it was perfect and nobody messed up.

In this unit we learned all about different debate strategies and debate history. At the end of the unit we researched, studied, practiced, and presented our debates. I used integrity in this project because I didn't interrupt or burst out during the other team's presentations.

I think the most challenging part was definitely finding good sources and finding good quotes to support my claim. Another challenging part of writing the essay was having to restate my points. This was challenging because I had to restate it in such a way that it made sense and was very persuasive. I feel like the body paragraph definitely posed the better argument. I think this is because it had a lot of really good evidence and I supported the claim well, whereas in the intro and conclusion i was really just trying to fill the space. I think the first and main thing I would recommend to future 6th graders is to copy and paste evidence from your previous debate research. This makes it so much easier because you don't have to write everything just from scratch. Another thing I would recommend is to use different sources in each paragraph.
