This is an Inca stone carving. I did many layers, at first I made a card-board basic shape, and then I used paper machè to create texture. Lastly, I painted it, and that is the most difficult challenge that I faced in this project because I struggled to make the right brown. Even when I did make a brown that I wanted, I would run out of paint and I would have to make it again and it didn’t turn out the right color. My favorite part was adding detail with a Sharpie.

This artwork represents lunar phases. We (my partner and I) wanted to add an artistic touch to our art piece. A challenge we faced was not knowing how to make spheres, we searched it up and figured out a pretty way to fold a circle. The cow represents the common nursery-rhyme, because we wanted to add a funny, clever touch.

My favorite part of this artwork was the process, I wasn’t very happy with the finished piece but making it was really fun. I was inspired to make this because I saw this really pretty picture of a sunset and pink flowers. My painting didn’t turn out looking like the picture, but it definitely looked original. The themes include happy, cheerful, childish, and fantastical. I had a hard time making an impressionist painting because I’m used to making art as realistic as possible.

My favorite part of this artwork was thinking of different things that represent me and blending them all together into one picture. The picture in the middle is me from the back wearing a bandanna. The picture to the top left is a bicycle wheel that represents how much I like to mountain bike. The picture to the top right is the Deathly Hallows symbol and it represents Harry Potter. The flowering vines on either side represent how much I love nature. The mushroom in the bottom left shows how I like to harvest edible mushrooms from the wilderness. The butterfly in the bottom shows joy and fun. Finally, the picture on the bottom right represents Taylor Swift. I chose to use vibrant colors to represent my sense of style.

The country I had was Kenya. The traditional types of art of Kenya include beadwork, soapstone carvings, Maasai jewelry, wooden sculptures, and colorful textiles. It was primarily used for decorative and political purposes.it was created to show religious beliefs and to document history. The materials that were used include wood, stone, natural fibers, and beads. This specific art piece is inspired by the traditional clothing styles of Kenya, and the traditional patterns. Rock art originated with a hunter-gatherer group called Batwa 2000 years ago. Ornamentation was jewelry created to show social status and wealth. Textiles/Crafts symbolize spirits, ancestors, or social roles. Masks were used in ceremonies and to communicate with ancestors.

The hardest challenge I faced in this project was shading the hair. This was hard because I had never really mastered drawing realistic hair. I feel like this project helped me learn good techniques for drawing. My favorite thing to do is draw people, but I never realized all the good tricks.
