Project Reflection

I studied the Arctic region, and I think the exhibition went very well! My favorite about this exhibition was getting to build a replica of our region. We faced many challenges on the way but the biggest one was to repair our science project because we thought its was ruined for sure. But Alma fixed it! I think I met the group work goal pretty well!

I feel like I used helpfulness while working with my partners during this exhibition because I took extra parts to take some weight off my partners backs. In the middle of our exhibition I got sick and stayed home for a few days, but I emailed back and fourth with one of my peers to make sure I was caught up and worked on memorizing my script for those couple of days.

chinmney Rock national mountument field study

We went on a field trip to Chimney Rock National monument to learn about the ancient pueblos and their adaptations. For example, 4 of my favorite adaptations were, the mano matate. Which were used to crack nuts, mix pigments, or mill herbs and seeds. Two other things I really liked were, the atlatl and their weaved bracelets. I also really liked that they built their camp/village up on top so that they would be safer and spot predators/enemies from far away. That's so smart!

I think I gained confidence in my survival skills because I learned the strategy's that the ancient pueblo people used to survive in the wild. For example, hunting. I learned how to throw an atlatl so I can hunt for food. Observing, learned that they would observe animals eating different berries to find out if they are safe to eat.
