this test covered exponents and scientific notation (ect) the grades i got on this was a Dev. I got a meets on our workbook, i feel like this difference is mainly because i personally just actually think i dont test well, and i also put more effort into actual refinement on workbooks and what we do in them. my goal for the next unit is to actually use my notes when there available in testing.
this quiz was about linear functions and graphs, the grade i got on this quiz was a 4 out of 5 so a meets. a goal i will set for myself in the future, is to study, use my resources, and read all the questions over so that i may get a 5 out of 5 next time. maybe.
this unit was based on functions and volume, the grade i got on this workbook was a meets. the reason i beleive i got this grade is because i worked hard to keep up with the work, and i was pretty good at completing the work effeciantly. but yeah my goal for the next unit would probably just be to get an exeeds i guess.
this grade went over linear functions, volume, and graphs, the grade i got was a dev. i beleive that this was because i failed to demonstrate understanding on a few things, or i didnt complete the questions. i plan on doing test corrections, and my goal for the next unit is to spend more time on some things, and aim for a meets.
this workbook went over linear equations and linear systems, the grade i got on this workbook was an approaching. the reason I got this grade is because i was missing a couple of lessons in the unit, which is reasonable for the grade. because i was absent for a lot of math days during this last unit without making up the work. my goal for the next unit is to make up for my missing assignments.
This test reflected on everything that we went over in this unit, such as linear equations and linear systems. The grade I got on this test was a dev. I got this grade because I failed to demonstrate understanding of the topic, which makes sense. If I get into a lot more honestly this time, I'm not the best tester. I usually rush, dont care if I use the wrong method, and guess a lot. My goal and I say this a lot but given that I'm moving into high school soon, is to try to improve on this. to study, and work on my algebra skills, and try to focus on growing my learning skills.
my overall grade level score for i-ready in the beginning of the year was early 5th grade 425 which obviously isn't grade level average, which means that I tested at an early 5th grade math level in the beginning of my 8th grade year. the national norm on the bottom of the score Paige says 66 percentile, I honestly have no idea what that means but I assume that means either beginning 8th grade or late 7th grade for my grade level. I scored the highest in geometry, and the lowest in stuff like measurements and data, I believe this is because it required stuff like deviding and multiplying which I honestly never really cared to memorize. my goal for the end of this year is to try to catch up as much as I possibly can and get as close to grade level as possible.
in this unit we are learning about how to create and solve linear equations. the grade i got on this test was a developing but to be honest i want really even trying. the reason i believe i did so poorly on this quiz was because number one, i didnt get any sleep the night before because i was feeling kinda sick so i kinda just purposefully used the wrong strategy so i could just finish it quicker. a goal i have for the future is to study and put a larger amount of effort into my assessments even ehen i dont feel like it.
this quiz went over what we've learned in this unit so far so basically it tested on us slopes, and figuring the solutions to equations. on this quiz i got a 3/5 i beleive i got this score because there are a few topics in this unit that i didnt quite grasp emedietely so i might have just rushed through or didnt usee the right process. my goal for the next quiz is to use any resources (if im allowed to) and to study beforehand when im given time to.
in this unit we learned about linear relationships. the grade I got on this WORKBOOK overall was a meets, I believe I got this grade because I did well at keeping up with the unit and understanding what I doing though there was a few things I got confused on I always caught myself up and got it done. my goal for the next unit is probably to work a bit harder to understand what I'm doing and also to most definitely dedicate more to my Delta math. on the test I got an approaching, I believe this is because on some of the question I both failed to explain my work and also just got some of the questions wrong, so I think that this score is fair. my goal for the next test is to focus more, study prior to the test, and also pay more attention to the unit.
score on WORKBOOK: meets - I got this grade because I completed by WORKBOOK all except for 1 assignment.
score on test: developing. I got this grade because I forgot a lot of key factors to figuring the equations mainly forgetting to simplify my fractions. what I want to improve on my next test is possibly studying ahead of time and reading the question fully so that I completed my answer correctly.
on the first math quiz I got 100% this quiz was on geometry, one goal I set for myself when it comes to this is to keep this score as an average for myself. on the second quiz I got a 90% this quiz was also about geometry a goal I want to set for myself is still just to keep grades like this.
this assignment helped us practice figuring out the systems of equations and plotting point on a line using equations as our guidelines. i got an app on this assignment, because i missed the point on the fourth level where it asked for coordinate pairs. my goal for the future is to begin working harder on this work, read the questions thoroughly, and try to understand my questions better before just answering.
an article that we read in our math class proves the study that the being of a "math person" or having a "math brain" is simply a myth because according to the study of Moser "The recent neurological research on the brain and mistakes is hugely important for math, as it tells us that making a mistake is a very good thing" ''They found that when students perceived their classroom as mistake friendly – above and beyond other aspects of their classroom’s environment – they increased their effort in their work.''
mistakes are important in math class because when we make mistakes synapses react, a synapse is an electrical signal that moves between parts of the brain when learning occurs.
right now I currently feel pretty scared for more advanced math to introduce itself because my mindset simply doesn't want to memorize math equations or processes I feel like it is something that I will learn to get by but it will a struggle and I will never not dread the idea of being called on in math class.
though some things that I like to do are take notes on key ideas that can hopefully help me understand the things that I constantly forget. I also like to learn from my mistake of slacking off even more a minute because if it never stops I wont learn.
