I can demonstrate my knowledge of Early American history, government and civics through a TED Talk-style presentation that analyzes the major political and social changes that affected the definition of citizenship and the rights of citizens, and explain how those changes continue to impact marginalized groups today
i was able to use this long term learning target throughout the exhibition by contributing to the mock trial as a defense attorney and working with my witness to prove the innocence of Kit Carson. during this project i learned how to transform information from study into a charecter based performance and script. in this project i learned alot about how the law and the court room worked, this can help me in the future because if i ever have to be on the jury now i know how to read the trial. and i know how it works. same as if i ever have to be a wittness. this project did help me learn a bit about my opinions, and that i might think that being an attorney in the future could possibly be fun, if what i really want doesn't work out. the grade i would personally give myself on this unit is probably a meets + because i feel like i did extremely well on the whole unit itself but the oral presentation i most likely seemed nervous. 3 goals i would set for myself on the next exhibition would most likely be to, prep ahead, work on scrip more outside of school, and work more on memorization.
btw my grade on the written aspect was an exeeds...
my overall grade level for reading was early 8th grade the topic i scored the lowest in was most likely the wide reading because to be honest i usually get very lazy when i get to that part of the diagnostic and even though i try very hard not to ush i still kind of rush through the reading or i zone out while reading the words. but all of my scores for the categories were either early 8th grade or surpassing level. the topic i scored the highest in was phonics. honestly im pretty happy with my scores but my goal for the next diagnostic is probably to not rush through it.
i got a meets plus on this Socratic seminar. this SEMINAR was about the book just mercy, the reason I think I got this grade is because I spoke the required amount of times and I sited the book with evidence, my goal for our next Socratic seminar is to study text more so that I can site the text directly and be more engaged in the conversation.

for this unit we read the book just mercy and were prompted to find 1-2 injustices and each chapter than write a summary of the chapter followed by our quote that represented an injustice and reasoning on why it did.

from this project I learned a lot about the Jim crow laws and the inequality that our country faced throughout its history and the years its people have been through. I learned a lot about how kids were treated in cruel ways both in schools and in court, and I also learned a lot about how the justice system breaks the rules all the time and it goes unseen. this topic itself helped me to learn how to analyse articles and also how to understand my world better and its helped me notice the flaws in our world. the overall grade I got on this was a meets.
