Hello First Grade Families!
My name is Brenda Hanson, and I am so happy to be your first-grade teacher this year!
This will be my seventh year teaching first grade and my 18th year at Turtle Lake. Throughout my 24 years in the Mounds View District, I have also taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. I graduated from the University of Minnesota—Duluth and received my Master of Arts Degree from Concordia University—St. Paul.
My husband, Eric, and I have two daughters. Maddie is 21 and attends the University of Minnesota. She will be graduating this fall with a degree in communications. Bailey is 11 and will be going to Chippewa this year. We also have a fun-loving dog named Bruno, who happens to be a foster fail. We fell in love with this sweetie and couldn't resist rescuing him.
As a family, we love attending sporting events, golfing, going for walks or scooter rides, and traveling when possible. I also enjoy reading, photography, art, puzzles, and playing games.
We're in for a fantastic year of learning, fun, and adventure together!

Each month, your child will bring home a Scholastic Book Order. I will include a wish list you can complete together or have your child choose. You can place orders online or return them to school with a check. Scholastic does not accept cash.
