Lesson One
This lesson dives deep into students ability to comprehend text through the use of a Venn Diagram. Students are asked to compare and contrast information from a given text by first watching the teacher model this task. Through gradual release, children have the opportunity to work individually or in pairs to create their Venn Diagram.

Lesson Two
This lesson focuses on each individual child's ability ro read fluenty. The students are given the opportunity to use a research-based strategy and practice coaching eachother through reading fluently. Once the students are given adequate time to read and coach with eachother, the teacher takes one student at a time to listen to them read the text fluently to the best of their ability and then scored based on how fluently they read the text.
