Welcome!
The Montebello Unified School District Induction Program is a California Department of Education (CDE) and Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) approved induction program to clear a Multiple Subject, Single Subject, and Education Specialist teaching credentials.
MUSD prides itself on providing a two-year, individualized, job-embedded system of mentoring, support, and professional learning that begins in the teacher’s first year of teaching. The program is based on a clearly defined set of goals and outcomes designed around the California Standards for the Teaching Profession Standards (CSTP) to support new teacher growth and student achievement.
We welcome all newly hired teachers with a preliminary teaching credential into the Montebello Unified School District. Induction typically begins in a teacher’s first year of teaching. An Early Completion Option (ECO) is available for those who have three or more years of contract, full-time teaching experience.
The MUSD Teacher Induction Program is completely free to our MUSD teachers.
We look forward to working with you as you work towards clearing your preliminary teaching credential.

What is Teacher Induction?
Teacher induction refers to a comprehensive and structured support program designed to guide and empower new teachers as they transition into their role. In the context of the California Teacher Induction Program, it involves a process where experienced mentors collaborate with newly credentialed teachers to provide personalized guidance, resources, and professional development.
The goal of teacher induction is to enhance teaching effectiveness, promote student learning outcomes, and foster a sense of professional growth and competence among educators. Through ongoing mentoring, observation, feedback, and reflective practices, teacher induction ensures that new teachers receive the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed in their classrooms and contribute positively to the education system.
