Please check here for the monthly focus flyer with information on the classroom lessons, ways to reinforce and support at home, and family resources.
We can benefit from remembering all the things in our lives to be grateful for, which is why this month's theme is gratitude.
Students will acknowledge how negative thoughts have a tendency to be "sticky" and will identify things that they are grateful for whether it be something big or small. By actively working to have a positive mindset, we can combat the sticky negative thoughts.
Our feelings have a great influence on our behavior. This month's theme is feelings, so we will dive into empathy, inclusion, and coping skills to use when we have big feelings.
To build community at the start of the year, the counselor will present lessons on how to access counseling services and students with play movement games to get to know their classmates a little better.
