How do I apply for HS/EHS?

Steps to expect when applying for Head Start/Early Head Start

1) Complete the Initial HS/EHS Application using the button above or by calling 734-342-8641

2) A HS/EHS staff member will receive your application within 10 business days and contact you using the email/phone number you provided. They will set an in-person application meeting with you (phone application if required). The staff person will inform you of the documents you will need to provide the program with, which include the following.

Income Documentation (W-2, 4 consecutive weeks of Paystubs, Child Support, Unemployment, SSI, TANF, Foster care documentation, etc.)

Proof of residency (Bill, Rental Agreement, Drivers License, etc.)

Birthdate Documentation (Birth Certificate, Immunization Record, etc.)

3) You will receive a letter outlining your enrollment status (enrolled, waitlist, incomplete, etc.). The letter will be sent to the residence you provided during your enrollment application meeting.

*Limited space is available. To ensure a slot in the HS/EHS program, please begin the application process as early in the year as possible by completing all steps in a timely manner.

**Students currently enrolled in the program will automatically qualify for a second year in the program as long as the family meets with their FPS to complete their re-enrollment paperwork.

***Your application is NOT considered final until you meet with the enrollment specialist and all pieces of documentation have been submitted.
