MRHS Hall of Fame

Overview on Event

By Synai Wilkerson ‘25

Introduction

The Monmouth Regional Hall of Fame conducts a ceremony that occurs every other year, inducting former MRHS graduates for academic or athletic achievements from their high school careers. The next ceremony will take place in spring of 2025. Mr. Beverly, the MRHS Hall of Fame Coordinator, will be hosting this upcoming event.

Criteria

Typically, there are about eight to twelve Hall of Fame nominees. Mr. Beverly says that “all of the data is collected, the inductees are voted on, and then the ceremony takes place the following week.” To be eligible for acceptance, Mr. Beverly says that besides athletic and academic achievements, alumni have to had graduated ten years prior, and then they can be submitted by a peer.

Acceptance

About the acceptance process, Mr. Beverly says that “there’s a panel of judges and they judge on different criteria, whether it’s athletic or academic, so once they judge, they accumulate the votes and basically its leading votes are accepted.” After an alumni is nominated, they will receive a letter that states if they have been accepted into the MRHS Hall of Fame, giving them a rundown of procedures of what they need to do. They are allowed to invite their family and friends to the ceremony, where they will receive a plaque with their accomplishments.

Nominations

You can view the former nominees and photos of the event on the MRHS website. On the website, there is also a nomination form for alumni that allows you to nominate an MRHS alumni for the next Hall of Fame.
