A Night Filled With Disco

By Ireland Fischer '25

The Disco-themed Homecoming took place on October 14th, 2023 in the Monmouth Regional Commons from 7-10 pm, and was decorated and organized by the Student Council. There were disco balls scattered around the Commons and one placed in the center. The doors opened a few minutes before 7 pm, but most of the 400 attendees (according to Mrs.Collison) arrived after 7 pm. The dance was open to both MRHS students and students attending Monmouth County Vocational Schools. Tickets were sold for $14 each. As for the disco theme, co-advisor Mrs. Collison reported that 27% of students voted in favor of this theme, with a close second choice Masquerade that was 1% away from winning the overall vote.

“I thought it went well. There were no fights, there was no drama, except the people wanting to leave earlier than nine o’clock” Collison said.

Photo Booth

In the hallway of the Commons, a photo booth including a ring light was set up, which provided free pictures to all students. Various signs and fun accessories as props were available for the students.

Snacks

At a separate table, there were various snacks including candy bars, Fruit Roll-ups, soda, Gatorade, Fruit Snacks, and chips for a dollar each.
