MOODLE WILL GO LIVE ON 8TH OF JUNE
To use the Activity Completion features, you need to configure the completion settings and set up the relevant conditions for selected activities.
You can access the activity completion settings in the Activity Completion section in the settings of any individual activity or resource, or use the Course Completion menu to edit activities and resources in bulk.
Note: Ensure that activity completion tracking is enabled in your course before you can access the these settings. If you are unsure how to enable this setting, refer back to this page for more information.
Turn on Edit mode
Navigate to the activity or resource
Click on the Options menu (the three dots at the top right corner)
Select Settings
Scroll down to the Activity Completion section.
Note: Activity completion settings may vary slightly depending on the resource or activity.
Check the information below to learn more about each Completion tracking setting.
There are three different tracking types that you can configure: "Do not indicate activity completion," "Students can manually mark the activity as completed," and "Show activity as complete when conditions are met." When you select a specific type, Moodle will provide the corresponding settings for further configuration.
Check the information below to learn more about the differences between each type and determine which one is the right fit for your needs.
Do not indicate activity completion: The activity/resource will be excluded from activity completion tracking. You will not be able to track viewing or student completion.
Students can manually mark the activity as completed: Students can manually mark activity completion with the Mark as Done button for each activity or resource on the unit homepage.
Note: Some Moodle activities only support manual tracking; this option is available in those cases.
Show activity as complete when conditions are met: The activity is only marked as complete when defined conditions are met. When this option is selected, additional activity completion settings will appear.
Note: Different Moodle activities will have slightly different additional configurations of conditions based on the specific activity or resource.
Here is a list of the available additional activity completion settings and their explanations.
You can edit the activity completion settings for multiple activities or resources at once. However, since different Moodle activities or resources may have slight variations in their completion settings, we recommend selecting the same type of activity or resource for bulk edits to ensure all relevant settings are displayed.
Click on the More button in the tabs menu, and then select Course completion.
Note: Your course must have activity completion tracking enabled to see this option in the menu, and you need editing rights to access this page.
2. Select Bulk edit activity completion from the top-left drop down list.
3. Select activities or resources with the checkboxes beside the activity or resource.
4. You can select ALL activities and resources in the unit with the checkbox beside the Activities/Resources column header OR select all items in a section by selecting the checkbox beside the Section heading.
5. Once all required items are selected, click Edit.
6. Select the activity completion settings as required.
7. Click Save changes.
Note: If more than one type of resource or activity is selected, some resource/activity specific settings may not be displayed. It is recommended you edit batches of one type of resource or activity if needed.
