No. There will be no additional work for the majority of unit leaders. On Saturday 8th June, all current moodle pages will be upgraded to Moodle 4.1, with their resources, activities and student data intact. There may be a small amount of tidying up work to make things look just right on your Moodle page, but the upgrade team will strive to keep this to a minimum.
No files or resources will be deleted from Moodle.
Will Moodle be unavailable during the upgrade?
Yes, Moodle will be inaccessible on Saturday 8 June, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Please ensure you have no scheduled deadlines for submission during this upgrade period. The following activities and functions will not be accessible:
assignment submissions/downloads/uploads
Turnitin assignments submissions/downloads/uploads
grading
assessment activities
integrated applications including Kaltura, Mahara and Echo 360 Active Learning Platform
If you are teaching or using course resources on Saturday 8 June, please plan not to have access at this time.
No. You may be aware of recent changes to the Monash University Moodle as part of the Digital Learning Uplift project. In that project, the University combined their Moodle 4.1 upgrade with the rollout of templates for course pages and other University-specific functions. This meant that MU staff had to ‘rebuild’ their Moodle sites to fit in with their new MU templates.
Monash College is taking a different approach. We are not introducing any compulsory templates, but simply upgrading to the newer version of Moodle.
