Priscilla is a licensed and registered professional counsellor with Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia (LKM) and the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). Priscilla holds a PhD in Psychology with research expertise in the realm of romantic relationships. As a psychology lecturer at Monash University Malaysia, she specializes in counselling, relationship science, cultural psychology, and positive psychology.
Priscilla believes there is no health without mental health and views counselling as self-care and a safe space for personal and relationship growth. Her goal is to help individuals work towards the best version of themselves and couples to build positive synergy with their partner to propel their relationship forward. Priscilla has experience in managing various struggles with her clients including anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, relationship issues, self-esteem, and career concerns. She has also worked with refugees offering culturally sensitive and trauma-informed care to individuals facing significant challenges, such as violence and prosecution.
Priscilla’s integrative approach combines various therapeutic modalities, namely Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-focused Therapy, and Mindfulness tailored to each client's needs. Likewise, Priscilla draws on her counselling experience and psychological research background adapting her teaching approach to each of her student's specific needs. Priscilla’s hope is providing a safe and nurturing environment for the next generation of counsellors to explore and find their unique strengths and approaches in offering effective support and promoting mental well-being for their clients.
