About Me
Hi! I'm Zainab, an international student from Sri Lanka and the first in my family to pursue a degree abroad. As someone who grew up as an only child, I learned early on how complex our inner worlds can be, especially when we don’t always have someone to turn to. My own experience navigating personal struggles led me to discover the power of counselling. What began as a personal outlet eventually grew into a deep calling.
During my internship at a local NGO, I had the opportunity to work under a seasoned counsellor who modelled what it truly meant to create a safe, non-judgmental space for others. That experience, alongside my own healing journey, inspired me to walk this path and hold space for others the way space was held for me.
People often describe me as nurturing, warm, and welcoming. In our sessions, you’re welcome to lay your mask down and just be—messy, tender, uncertain—without the fear of being too much or not enough. I believe that healing looks different for everyone, and I meet each person where they are. While I’ve completed Level 1 training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), I also draw from Person-Centred Therapy (PCT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to tailor the process to your unique needs.
I find myself especially attuned to those navigating interpersonal relationships, trauma-related challenges, and the ache of family neglect. If you're carrying stories that feel too heavy or wounds that haven’t found words yet, I hope to offer you a space where you can gently unpack them, at your pace, on your terms.
It’s okay if you’re still on the fence about therapy. You don’t need to have all the answers—just the courage to begin. I’m here to walk alongside you, at your pace, with compassion and care.
