About Me
Hi, I’m Faris. I’m from Chennai, but I grew up in Saudi Arabia, where I was surrounded by a culture of generosity and hospitality. That environment taught me the value of showing up for others, something I now carry into my work as a counselling student at Monash University Malaysia.
I was drawn to counselling after experiencing what it’s like to be truly heard in a safe space. I want to offer that same feeling to others, where they can speak openly, feel seen, and not be judged for what they’re going through.
In sessions, I’m calm and grounded. I’m especially interested in supporting clients facing depression, addiction, and other everyday struggles that often go unspoken. I believe in learning from the people around me, and I’m always open to constructive feedback. My friends would probably describe me as goofy, caring, and honest; I bring that same mix of lightness and sincerity into my work.
Outside the counselling space, I’m usually in motion, whether it’s playing basketball, doing jiu-jitsu, or just keeping myself moving. I also do regulated breathing every morning; it’s a small ritual that keeps me grounded and sets the tone for the day.
If you’re looking for someone who will listen without judgment and sit with you through whatever you’re carrying, I’m here.
