Does a student or member of your lab group need to travel?
How can they pay for accommodation, meals, travel expenses without a Monash credit card?
Students and staff should not be out of pocket, for these types of valid University expenses.
In these circumstances, a cash advance might be the solution.
A request is made to advance a person money (paid into their personal bank account) and then expenses are reconciled with receipts after payments are made.
Any excess funds are then returned back to Monash.
Cash advances are for domestic payments only, when the total expenditure exceeds $500. Any overseas payment request will be rejected.
Each person should only hold one cash advance at a time. A new cash advance will be issued only when the previous cash advance has been fully acquitted.
Cash advances are also helpful when travelling to locations where credit cards and/or other payment methods are not generally accepted.
Students request a cash advance via a form found here
Staff who don’t have a corporate credit card can apply for a cash advance using Concur.
