1. What is CTSS’s mobile device policy?
Students may bring mobile device to school for the purpose of communication after school hours. All mobile devices must be switched off and kept in the lockers during school hours. Non-adherence will lead to the mobile device being confiscated and handed over to the Student Management Committee.
This move is in view of the introduction of Personal Learning Devices (PLD) to all students. CTSS’ choice of PLD is the Apple iPad. With PLDs, students can access digital learning resources with ease, and without need for their mobile devices. Hence, a distinction is made between the intended use of mobile devices (i.e. for communication with family) and PLDs (i.e. for learning purposes).
