Aesthetics Programme

Values Education Through The Arts

In CTSS, we seek to inculcate in our students an appreciation for the Arts. The school creates platforms for Clementeens to explore, experience and experiment performance through events such as the biennial School Musical, where they are trained in cast, creative and crew work, and are taught valuable lessons of adaptability, self-discipline, perseverance, respect and empathy in the process. The students are shown the realities of work in the performing arts through these experiences.  The school also exposes our students to different art forms through assembly programmes and End-of-Term Cohort Activities, where students learn more about music, dance and drama.

CT Aesthetics has performed regularly well in the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Arts Presentation. Apart from participating in competitions, the Aesthetics CCA Groups collaborate in a  CCA VIA Project to enlist their talents to contribute to the community. Clementeens also have adequate opportunities to perform in school events.

In music lessons, Clementeens experience a broad spectrum of modules ranging from Samba Percussion, Keyboard, Pop Band, to Composition using digital audio workstations. This allows Clementeens to experience learning music based on authentic settings and real-world context. Art lessons, emphasis has been placed on relating elements of art and principles of design to life experiences.

In all,  the Aesthetics experience in CTSS develops Clementeens to be future-ready with a sense of appreciation of beauty around them.

"Modern dance has empowered me to grow as an individual and has contributed greatly into shaping me as a more resilient individual.   It has also allowed me to further hone my self-confidence and self-discipline. I am forever grateful for this beautiful experience."

"My journey in the Guzheng Ensemble has undoubtedly made me a better team player. Working diligently alongside my CCA mates while preparing for a CCA event has taught me to appreciate the true essence of teamwork.  Beyond learning the musicality of the guzheng instrument, I have learned to step out of my comfort zone and become more communicative with those around me. As a result, I have gained confidence and grown as a person."

Tan Si Ting Shermaine, Guzheng Chairperson

"CTWinds has provided invaluable experiences for me to blossom, both as a musician and as a leader. I've journeyed from being a timid individual plagued by self-doubt to someone with confidence and unwavering determination. CTWinds has been an integral part of this transformative process, molding me into the person I am today. I will forever cherish the precious memories created in my second home, CTWinds!"
