Teacher Observer Application
(For teachers interested in participating in the Creative Arts Seminar)
The Creative Arts Programme is an annual literary encounter for selected students from Secondary Schools and Junior Colleges. It seeks to nurture young, talented writers in Singapore. The Programme provides the opportunity for fledgling writers to work with mentors and gain an insight into the discipline of writing.
In line with the goal of nurturing young writers in schools/colleges, the Creative Arts Programme is organising a stint for teachers to observe and work with writers and enrichment facilitators at the Creative Arts Seminar. Teacher participants will sit in on all plenary sessions and selected workshops to observe the sessions.
An online briefing and engagement session will take place on the afternoon of 10 May 2024. The 2024 Seminar will provide a mix of online and in-person workshops throughout the 4-day Seminar from 27 May to 31 May 2024. After the Seminar, the participants will design and implement their own programme and share their experience in a short report to be submitted to the Creative Arts Programme Committee.
Teachers who have an interest in writing and hope to conceptualise programmes for their own school/college should benefit from this Seminar.
Successful applicants will have to attend the 10 May briefing and the entire Seminar from 27 May to 31 May. They will also be expected to fulfil the following duties:
maintain discipline and monitor student well-being at CAP sessions;
audit workshops and provide feedback to the CAP Organisers;
assist Performance Workshops instructors in ensuring students are on track with Closing Ceremony products, and;
provide logistical support at the Seminar, whenever necessary.
