Description
The CAP is organising two enrichment lectures on 11 and 12 November 2025 for young creative writers who are preparing portfolios to apply for the Creative Arts Programme in 2025. These sessions will offer useful tips to students who are relatively new to the writing genres of poetry and play, and also provide a snapshot of the kind of learning that will take place at CAP.
Target Audience
Registration is open to all students who are in Secondary School or Junior College in 2026. The sessions will be especially beneficial for students who are preparing portfolio submissions for the next CAP application cycle.
Students who will be Sec 2, Sec 3 (and have not attended CAP in Sec 2), JC1 or Pre-U 1 & 2 (Centralised Institute only) in 2026 are eligible to apply for CAP 2026.

Students should register their interest here by 7 Nov (Fri) 5pm, 2025. They may register for either session or for both sessions.
Do note that seats will be allocated on a first-come-first served basis. Successful registrants will be provided with the results of their registration and the login information by 10 November 2025.

Synopsis: This is a seminar born from the premise that understanding and practising technical aspects of poetry should be elementary and exciting to students who are interested in learning and improving their craft of writing poetry. The phrase in the title is a quote from the poet Mary Oliver – poetry has a “fluid and breathing body”. How do significant or unignorable ideas and emotions in you become transformed into a poem through your selection of words and your decisions about the order in which they should be arranged?
