The Council

The Creative Arts Programme is run by the Gifted Education Branch with the assistance of a small but passionate group of student leaders. In ages ranging from 15 to 22, the CAP Councillors serve as orientation group leaders, workshop assistants, councillors and friends to each batch of participants. Every year, the CAP Organising Committee selects promising past CAP participants to form the CAP Council. CAP Councillors are the backbone of CAP. They are responsible and dynamic team players who exhibit leadership qualities.

CAP Councillors’ responsibilities at the Creative Art Seminar include the following:

Shortlisted CAP Council applicants will be called for an interview with the CAP Organising Committee in March. Successful applicants for the CAP Council must attend the 3 or 4 training sessions provided by the CAP Organising Committee during the months of April and May.  They are also expected to stay in for the duration of the Creative Arts Seminar. Food will be provided if the camp is a face-to-face one.

Beyond the invaluable leadership training councillorship provides, helming the camp develops perspectives and skills as councillors take on tasks such as organising welfare activities and facilitating literary sharings.

If you found your own Seminar experience fulfilling, joining CAP as part of Council promises even more exciting experiences and greater exposure to the vibrant community that is the Creative Arts Programme.
